: When Blackwell was a small puppy, I used one word commands on training him and also combined hand movements with the commands. As he grew older, he would answer with hand movements without the words.
its really something how they learn. |

My little dog, Cuddles responds better to hand commands then to any oral commands. We have done this quite by accident because of the cats and the Parrot. Poor Baby, the parrot is so loud that we have to move around certain rooms that Cuddles runs and with hand commands she just looks and acts to our commands. That Parrot is now even shuttting up with a CLAP OF THE HAND AND UP/DOWN ARM MOVEMENT. I think animals can learn this real quick, and its so much better than yelling. |

Yeah you can really train really well with the hands. Our newest
family member is a puppy and with a quick clap of the hand it will stop
and sit. Started doing this when we were working with the cat to get her
off the couch and the puppy we noticed at a clap she sits. It is really
cute and so we use the hand commands alot with her. Sure helps instead
of yelling. So I agree 100% Dogs ARE SMART. We should be so
smart. HA HA |
