I read this story about dogs who were heros during this tragic disaster.
One that caught my eye and my heart, so to speak was of a service dog
who led his blind master down 70 floors to safety, even after the dog was
unleashed and the owner told him to go. This dog left for a few minutes and then returned back to master, and stayed by his side, urging him step by step down to safety. Even with all the noise and confusion this dog never went running out. Now to me this is the very height of LOYAL COMPANION.
We are all BLESSED to have such wonderful friends and loyal companions. |

This is such a wonderful story. I read about the dogs who searched for the bodies of the WTC Disaster, but I didn't hear this story. It's one that really makes you feel good about these faithful dogs and the wonderful trainers who have worked so hard to teach them this loyalty. |

Surprised that I missed reading this post. My friends told me about it too. And it is
great to remember these special dogs who give their all for their owners. It just moves
the a pets lovers heart to know that these are out there, and I wonder how many more
stories there are about these wonderful dogs. Would love to read more stories. |
