This is a really good recipe.
Garlic Dog Biscuits
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup dry milk powder
1 tsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder (see Notes below)
1/3 cup meat drippings (i.e. bacon grease, etc.)
1 egg - beaten
1/2 cup ice water
-Combine flour, milk powder, brown sugar, salt, and garlic powder.
-Cut meat drippings into dry mixture until mixture forms coarse crumbs.
-Knead in egg with a fork.
-Slowly knead in water, adding just enough until mixture forms a ball.
-Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll out to 1/2" thick
-Cut shapes out of dough with a cookie cutter and place on a greased cookie sheet.
-Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes.
-Allow to cool and dry on wire racks.
Notes: Store at room temperature up to 1 month OR freeze up to 1 year. Garlic is known to prevent flea infestation. Fresh garlic in large quantities is poisonous to animals; the small amount of garlic powder in this recipe will not affect your pet.

Hi Bigdog,
This recipe is great. After I saw your post here about them, decided it would be a good one to try. I increased the garlic for Reddog, it does kill the mouth smell of other things that Reddog might get ahold of while we are out running around the ranch. And by the way, garlic doesn't smell bad when you are cooking good pot of beans. By the way a friend said that garlic will help digestion gets rid of worms. Although have's noticed any problems with reddog. Well try them biscuits, your dog will love them. |

I finally got a batch of these made up. And you guys are right my
dog is crazy for them. I thought Missy J would not care for them but
she does. So, I'm sold on this recipe for sure. |
