When I was a small girl, our neighbors lived in the country and had 2 dogs that I just loved. They were old and very lovable. One day when I went out to visit them, there house of empty and they were just laying in the yard near the front door. I ran home and told my mother that the dogs were left behind when the neighbors left. She went with me and found them still lying there not moving. We called some friends who came over to take them to their ranch, but it wasn't very long that we heard these poor dogs had died. The owner of the ranch said he believed that they just grieved themselves to death. They were old, but I never forgot those prescious dogs, left homeless and alone. |

This story is so like some I have heard of but never have been envolved with. To bad for the faithful dogs to have to be left behind. They were lucky to have you to care and at least they had a place to be in to grieve and not die hungry and left uncared for. I'm glad we have places to call now of days to have these homeless ones cared for. Thanks for reminding us that we all need to be aware of dogs who need care and support the agencies that and people who do care. |

I wanted to drop in and say that is such a sad thing. How can this
happen, I would leave my belongings before leaving my best friend.
reddog is the best part of my daily life. I'm glad there are those that
care for these, left behind. Those who work for the shelters and helping
are to be commended for their giving this way. |
