Never go up and pet a Guide Dog!

Learned today that there are some things you should not do with
special dogs that are called SERVICE DOGS.

This was on the news while there was a news about the Dogs
being trained for the Blind. The teacher said never go up to
any SERVICE DOG and start petting them.

THE REASON: These dogs are working dogs and they are
concentrating on the work they are doing.
Unless the person this dog is working for
talks to you and tells you its okay.

Note: Best tip, don't try to push a hello with these dogs. They
need to keep their focus.

Well don't mean to sound mean but this is a touchy
subject to me. The service dogs are great and everyone who works for
the guide service training them have a job to get it right before they
can be put out to the blind. Even my own dog, I tell people not to try
to push at her cause she doesn't care for strangers to get up on her.
If I introduce them to reddog than its okay, and there is no problem.
So really this is a good tip for all to be mindful of what is going on around the owner and dog. Service dogs are special and can handle most situations without being upset, and that is good. Love the dogs that are
able to be service helpers this way.
