Take your dog to the SPCA if you can't find a home for it.

There have been so many stories about people just wanting
to get rid of their pets when they had to move out of town or to the big
city. I read one the other day about a family that got this little dog
and they were just in love so to speak with it. The whole family seemed
to be just a real pet loving. When the husband found a new job he tried
to get someone to take the little dog and no one wanted it. Right up to the
time it was time to leave with the moving van all loaded, they just decided
to turn it out on the street, leaving the backyard a big bowl of food and
a large container of water. Some neighbors said, it was sad thing to see
the little dog wandering around, when someone said they should have
taken it to the spca. So finally the little dog was taken in and found a
good home. BUT......Never let these dear family pets to wander, they
need to be cared for, not left to run the streets, and if you suspect that
someone has left them, CALL the dog shelter for them.

sted: These little icons are just how I feel when the
thought of dogs being left to fend for themselves on the street. Anything
could happen. I guess I would take all the homesless pets in if I could.
But all I can say there are great people who care out in towns to open
themselves up to help. Take time to see if there is any thing you can
do to volunteer to help. I try to pass the word along as well as donate
to dog shelter causes. By the way the weather been so wet here in
Texas that there are lots who have been watching out for homeless pets
and checking some elderly neighbors to make sure they are okay and
see if they need help caring for them. Well I have to go its late.
