Shocked Rolling Eyes Well this question is one that I have been wondering about.
Reddog came in from the yard last night and what a horrible smell followed each room as the tail wagged and body did a shake. Grab the
house spray, and then got a hold on reddog before the roll on rug.
Well it was out the back door to wash tub. It wasn't a skunk, but after the bath, I walked the yard and looked and looked. And at the front porch near my favorite swing, was this awful looking piece of fur, and I realized it was long tailed rat. Yeah, and it was horrible smelling. It looked like it was mummy fied. But the smell was loud to the nose. Must have found this near the tree and dragged it up on the porch. Next day out to the front yard, reddog looked and rolled and back to the porch. It was a
good thing I got rid of that smelly thing before the morning. Or it would
be another wash tub bath. As it was I had to spray her and brush her fur.
If you know the reason why they like to roll in stinking stuff let me know.
Reddog doesn't usually do this, but since the skunk...It must be just the beginning. Laughing Laughing

Laughing Laughing How come you get all the fun. Your reddog gets in the
awful stuff. But I guess I can't say to much as my Missy J is a funny
one who loves the smell. Had to give her a bath yesterday because
she found a dead squirrel that was mummy fied. Just the fur and tail
but what a stink. How do these dogs stand this SMELL. WHEW!

Well Bowie does roll too. But only at the park. And believe me I can't understand it either. But have been told it is to let other dogs where you have been and what you found. REALLY don't know that is true .....but
you sure can tell they found something, and its bad............Must be some
thing that all dogs do.

Laughing Laughing Laughing Hey you guys, love these posts. Yeah well here we go I believe those dogs love the smell of the wild and you can bet that smells do cause these dogs to do strange things. Blackwell loves the awfuuuuul
foullllll smelling ones. It has to do I think of the wild part of their natures from the very beginning having to look for food. Well ....sure would like to see this changed, but I guess that will never be. So get out the good spray and wash tub. Cool Cool Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Wiskers, you know that is just what I think would be with Scottie. You know those "wild" smells do get to them. In the Park we have to watch
Scottie, but so far she hasn't found the real "Wild Stinkie" stuff yet.
But I guess the day will come. Rolling Eyes Wink
